Cruxes for Chrome

Find the claims a page rests on. Open any article, click Cruxes, and get the few questions whose answers would change what you do. Each is highlighted on the page, with one outside source to check it against.

Download Cruxes v0.9.2

Not on the Chrome Web Store yet, so Chrome needs Developer mode for this install.

Install

  1. Unzip the download into a folder you will keep. Chrome reads the extension from that folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions and switch on Developer mode. Remove any older copy of this extension first.
  3. Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  4. Pin Cruxes from the puzzle-piece menu. Open an article and click the icon, then Find Cruxes. Allow the site when Chrome asks. It asks once per site.
  5. The panel asks you to connect your account. Choose Connect your account, sign in, and click Connect extension. Then click Find Cruxes again.

What it reads

Nothing until you click Find Cruxes. Then the title, address and text of that one tab go to Cruxes to be analysed. It never reads your other tabs or your browsing history. See Privacy and Terms.

Updating

Download the new zip, replace the folder's contents, then press the reload arrow on the Cruxes card in chrome://extensions.
